The body composition primerA glossary for peptide care

Words for a care decision

Decode the terms behind peptide body composition offers.

Body composition means what your body is made of, including fat and muscle. This primer explains peptide care offers and questions to take to a visit.

Begin with the word
An open book and a brass reading glass inside a tall observation window.
Read the word. Then read the offer.

Keep the goal beside the name

Wanting less body fat or more muscle does not tell you which medicine an offer contains. Ask for the drug’s name before comparing offers.

A word worth pausing on

Choose the least clear word in the offer. Keep the medicine name and your goal beside it.

All words are shown.

The word is only part of the answer

In a peptide, amino acids are joined in a short chain. Amino acids are building parts used to make proteins.

Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) had US-approved products in September 2026, as did tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound).

US approval covers a particular product and what it treats. It does not cover a pharmacy-prepared version just because the ingredient has the same name.

For a compounded drug, a pharmacist or doctor prepares the product rather than a manufacturer supplying it ready-made.

Ask what the offer is meant to change: body weight, body fat, muscle, or something else. Then ask what evidence supports that exact goal.
